Out of Africa!

Rafiki Reports
During our crusade in Nyamisebehi Village in Tanzania, East Africa, last December, we had an opportunity during the mid-day break between morning seminars and the late-afternoon outdoor service to travel a short distance to the nearby village of Lwamugasa, where Pastor Amos' wife, Susan, lay dying of severe anemia and fatigue due to over 10 years of bleeding that remained a mystery to the doctors.

When we arrived, her face was ashen-gray and she could barely sit up. As I placed my hand on her shoulder and we prayed for her, I could feel the healing virtue of God flow into her body. We commanded all infirmity and the spirit of death to leave and she felt the healing take place instantly! She immediately gained strength and was able to walk around, with the color in her face having returned!

We received a report from Pastor Amos that within two days after our visit, Susan was very happy to be performing her regular household chores, including cooking for her very grateful husband! She is completely healed and praising God for his mercy! Jesus still heals all diseases and infirmities!! [Heb. 13:8]

King's Kids' Korner!
Left: King's Kids relaxing in Pastor Samuel's living room in Igoma Village, Tanzania - upon Steve's evening arrival in December!

Our missions team will visit our King's Kids this June, to deliver toys, clothes, and lots of hugs! We will bring home lots of desire to help them even more!

We recently received the following letter dated May 18 from one of our precious girls, Irene Neema Kasambala. Although she has written to you in Kiswahili, her teacher provided a translation in English. Her picture was taken as she was singing and dancing last December during worship time in the church next to the dormitory!

Touches from the Father!
(Testimony by Ms. H, received April 2005)

During the month of November 2004 I found out I had an abnormality (blood discharge and pain) in one of my breasts. According to the doctor, this could have been due to injury (which it was not) or a symptom of cancer or related disease. As a human being, fear was knocking on the door, which could have led into worries, doubts and unbelief. But praise God for He is in control of every situation and also praise Him for your teaching on the 19th of February this year about belief, fear, doubt and unbelief which encouraged me so much at that particular time, before undergoing the test to find out what was wrong.

Deep within my heart there was a reminder of promises that God has given to me, His plan and the purpose for my life and how God has protected and delivered me from a lot of things. I had to turn my focus on Him, knowing that He is in control of every situation in my life. I stood on His word concerning healing and protection reminding Him of what Jesus did for us on the cross, His Word, the things He has done in my life, the promises He has given me and the purpose for my life. My prayer was that nothing could be found.

I attended Father's Touch healing services in the months of February and March this year, which was before going for the test (biopsy). I was very blessed by your teaching and prayers. In both of the services I attended I was prayed for by your team members. Two days after the last service I attended I went for the test (biopsy) and, praise the Living God, the result came out negative!

"He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." [Is. 53:5]

"So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." [Is. 55:11]

God bless you!
Ms. H., April 2005

Salubrious Servings!
"Are We There Yet?"
by Steve Trullinger

How often have those of us who are parents been pestered by our kids on a long car trip with the question, "Are we there yet?" On the irritation scale, it's right up there with fingernails scraping on the chalkboard! Not only is the question irrational if the car is still moving, but it seems to be repeated every 10 miles or so! Incredulous parents try to refocus the attention of the kids on the scenery or some other "blessing" of the journey itself, but almost invariably, the question comes again, and again! We try to console ourselves with the almost-solid belief that someday these kids will grow up and stop asking such an impatient question (and, with perhaps an expectant glee, we convince ourselves that they will have to endure similar torture from their own children).

But many of us, even the "adults" in the faith, ask a similar irrational question: "Are we ready for Jesus?" (Aren't we "there" yet"?) Because so much of end-time prophecy is being fulfilled, surely the Lord is right around the corner, on his way to whisk us away! Since the Lord is coming anyway, we "reason" that we can just bide our time and try not to engage in any gross sin! We "feel ready" for him when we actually waste precious opportunities to advance the Kingdom!

Sadly, that is the attitude of much of the church today and it betrays our failure to remember that there are at least two interrelated tasks that still must be fulfilled according to prophecies regarding these end times: (1) the complete evangelization of the nations, and (2) the restoration of purity and unity in the born-again church. We must not assume that these tasks will be completed by the Holy Spirit acting in complete sovereignty without our participation! Indeed, we are invited, and even commanded, to take an active role in moving the church toward these goals.

How can we be among those whom God has anointed to help move the church toward completion of these tasks?

  1. We can acknowledge and affirm God's desire and decree regarding unity in the church.

  2. We can seek a mature perspective regarding "faults" within the church and adopt an attitude of servanthood instead of condemnation -- we need to have the mind of Christ instead of the mind of Satan!

  3. We can eschew rebellion and independence in order to come into agreement with the heart-cry of Jesus as he prayed in John 17 (and prays!) for oneness among the brethren.

  4. We can esteem others more highly than ourselves, especially when we perceive that they may still be bowing to strongholds of division. By exhibiting more of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23), we can help foster the necessary environment for oneness.

We can be the answer to the God-ordained prayer [Mt. 9:38]: "Please send out workers into the harvest field." Our effectiveness in the harvest field depends critically on whether we share the vision and passion of our Lord for a church united in love!

Brush Touch!
In this new section, we feature prophetic artwork that we believe will be used by the Holy Spirit to touch you with the Father's love and encouragement!

Our featured piece for this issue of Touch Times was lovingly supplied by artist Denise Warsalla from the House of Prayer in Belfair, WA. May the Father's love find its target through this "brush touch!"
