Out of Africa!

Rafiki Reports

Last June our team conducted a 3-day crusade in the village of Bungonya, Tanzania, and on the last day we commissioned Elimelida Constantin into healing ministry and encouraged her to begin taking the Father's touch to nearby regions to share the Gospel and heal the sick! We recently received a report from her team (which included Ev. James Michael and intercessor Martha Zakayo) of incredible "touches" during 4 months of ministry (Oct. '05 to Jan. '06). A woman with one arm and one leg paralyzed for over a year was healed! A pastor in Nyamazugo Village was healed of chest pain that had lingered for five years, and an AIDS sufferer is already improving! In Kijiweni Village three mutes began to speak and 25 people tormented by evil spirits, some more than 6 years, were set completely free!

In neighboring Uganda, FTM Associate Jessica Nakibuule is regularly seeing healing miracles since she was ordained during our crusade near Kampala last June. Many people have been healed during her hospital visits, and many have been delivered of demonic oppression. The mother of a boy with a tumor since birth was told by Jessica to come back to the church the next day – she would have a testimony. The next day, she came in tears saying that her boy had been healed! Even during the worship sessions led by Jessica, tumors are disappearing!

King's Kids' Korner!

Some of the King's Kids and their cooks and caretakers with the brand-new stove and refrigerator made possible by generous donations from the classmates of one of our mission team members. No more smoke in the kitchen (and lungs!) from charcoal fires!

Thanks to the support of caring people, every one of our King's Kids at the FTM Children's Home in Igoma Village, Tanzania, was blessed with a new outfit for Christmas! These two boys shown below are smiling with thankfulness to their Provider who cares for them! We have a seamstress at the Center who earns her keep by making clothes for the King's Kids and is able to support herself by making additional clothes for sale. She is also teaching sewing skills to some of the girls and the Center!

Some of the King's Kids have sponsors here in the West. Here is a recent letter from Benjamin Shija to his sponsors. Following the English translation, we include a scanned image of his original letter in Kiswahili:

I feel my self loved – cared for as a child who has a father outside his country studying or as an Ambassador representing his country. Your letter has excited me and given me hope that I have my beloved given to me by our beloved Lord Jesus Christ to take care of my problems or needs and give me spiritual advice from you Mike, Jill and Luke.

Touches from the Father!

(Testimony by John M. – Jan./Feb. 2006)

I saw my doctor today, Jan. 27, and he told me that according to last week's MRI all of the liver cancer tumors are gone. Here's the story:

I was diagnosed with liver cancer in July of last year and was told I needed to get on the liver transplant list ASAP. I began the evaluations for the transplant. I had a chemotherapy treatment in August and again in November when new tumors developed. I was told the treatments would slow down the cancer but not stop it. One evening in December I suddenly felt severe pain around my liver. The next day I was admitted to Cedars Sinai. During that stay they took an MRI which they said showed numerous new tumors and that I was now no longer a candidate for a transplant. The doctor said I had "months, not years" left. I began to seriously prepare for death. I had no fear of death or judgment because of my faith in Jesus' death and resurrection. I only wanted to fulfill God's purpose for however much time I had left.

I have been watching "The 700 Club" on CBN lately and they always have two or three documentaries on people that have been prayed for and been healed. I asked my wife if she thought we should go to a healing service somewhere. She said that if the Lord told me to go we should go. Then she said that she thought that if the Lord wanted someone to pray for me, He would bring the person to me.

My friend Frank called me and said that he had spoken to Steve from "The Father's Touch" and that Steve had asked Frank if he could come up and pray for me. So on Thursday they came over and Steve and I discussed God's healing. Steve began to pray for me laying his hands on my liver. After he was done praying, he asked me if I felt anything. I said only that I felt his confidence that the Lord was going to heal me and it had given me confidence.

The next day or so I asked my wife if she thought I should have my pastors anoint me with oil and pray over me. She said she didn't think it was needed because God had already healed me. Then, over the next week or so, the pain around my liver was starting again and getting worse. The doctor had told me in the hospital that it was either the cancer cells dying off or the cancer cells spreading and causing the pain.

A few days later I had an MRI done and then saw the doctor at the cancer clinic today. He came in and asked how I was doing and if I had the MRI done. He had not seen the report yet. He read the MRI report out loud and made comments. It essentially said there was no evidence of tumors in my liver. He looked a little puzzled and apologized for having given me such a bad report in December (that I had "months not years left"). I was speechless. My wife asked him to verify that there were no tumors, which he did. The doctor said he would see me in five weeks and that I should make an appointment with the transplant team to see if they would now want to do a transplant. Still in shock we walked over to the transplant center and I said to the coordinator "I was a candidate for a transplant but was rejected because of the extent of the cancer, but now my cancer is gone and the doctor said I should come over here for an appointment to review my case again." She looked at me incredulously and said she'd get the report from doctor, discuss the case with the transplant team and get back to me. I don't think she believed me. I don't know what will happen in the future, but for now and forever I say "PRAISE THE LORD!"

Update on Feb. 28: Today we were at the hospital and I picked up the report of my February 22 MRI which I had ordered to send to the transplant doctor. I got the report and gave it to my wife to read. She read it and said "There's nothing." To be precise it says: "No abnormal areas of enhancement are identified within the liver ... Impression: no suspicious hepatic lesions are identified." In other words, NO TUMORS!

After my last email, I saw the transplant surgeon at my local hospital and he said that he had seen the December MRI and there were "at least ten tumors" which were not present in the January MRI and so he ordered the Feb 22 MRI thinking the January one was incorrect. He said that I could not be placed on the transplant waiting list until they were more certain that the tumors were gone (and hadn't spread to any other area). He said he could distinguish tumors because they grow quickly. Last week I spoke to the surgeon at the transplant hospital and he said they had denied my application to get on the list there because of the same concerns. He wanted me to send him the Feb 22 MRI which I will joyfully do tomorrow.

This has to be a miracle from God Almighty. There's just no other explanation. The ten tumors were present one month after my chemotherapy treatment in November and according to the oncologist ("you have months not years left") they were spread across the top of my liver like grapes and weren't even in the location where they had put the chemotherapy. I believe that the ten tumors were there in December and were removed by Father God through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ on January 5 when I was prayed for by Steve from The Father's Touch ministry. God must still have a purpose for me on earth and his will be done (say amen!).

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

Salubrious Servings!
"Anointing Upon Arrival!"
By Steve Trullinger

On my third trip to Africa (in June 2003) with Todd Bentley and the Fresh Fire team of over 90 awesome volunteers, we saw incredible outpourings of God's love and power in Malawi and in South Africa! These included the creation of a missing eyeball and the wholesale healing of an entire TB ward (65 patients!) in a Lilongwe hospital! I was extremely blessed and filled with joy at all I saw God do in Malawi on the first leg of the trip!

SICK IN SOUTH AFRICA!

But as we arrived on a Sunday in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the next crusade, I was very tired and felt feverish, feeling like I had the flu. It couldn't have happened in better company, though! I had over 90 prayer warriors, now experienced in the trenches of healing ministry, praying for me!

The rest of the team of course blasted ahead during the week in Johannesburg at the outreaches and the evening crusades, and I got to hear the wonderful reports of many miracles and salvations! But I was getting worried as, day after day, I was still mostly bed-ridden and I began to contemplate having to return home with the team at the end of the Johannesburg outreach, rather that going on by myself to conduct a crusade in a remote village in Tanzania as I had planned.

I began to feel, however, that this "flu" might just be a warfare attack of the enemy, to discourage me from pressing on to Tanzania, a country where I knew I was called to reach the villages! As the team prayed for me and I made a commitment to get to Tanzania, I began to feel slightly better (but still weak) by Friday, the last day for the team in Johannesburg. I believed for the power of God to blast away these symptoms in time for my crusade the next week! [Ps. 41:1-3]

I was not quite prepared, however, for the amazing shift that occurred when God flipped the "on" switch!

ANOINTING UPON ARRIVAL!

As soon as I stepped foot on Tanzanian soil at the airport the next day in Dar es Salaam, all the symptoms of the flu left me immediately! Praise God! I felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit for healing and miracles come upon me in power! I sensed that the Lord had an assignment for me very soon and I thanked him for my renewed strength and energy! OK, Lord, what are we doing next?

My connecting flight to Mwanza wasn't to leave for at least two hours, and passengers on domestic flights are not allowed into the terminal until one hour before departure. So, I had to wait outside in a plaza area with my luggage. I sat on a bench and began praising God again for the anointing that was really revving me up! I was looking around for whomever He wanted me to pray, but didn't get a prompting.

TWO-FOR-THE-"PRICE"-OF-ONE PRAYER!

All of a sudden a man approached me and handed me a laminated sheet of paper with a typed message explaining that he was deaf and needed money. The document contained an official-looking header and introduced the organization that was helping him. This kind of approach is familiar in airports around the world, so I wasn't surprised by the solicitation.

I tried to explain with hand motions that I had no money to give him, but that I would like to pray for his ears! He seemed to be a bit confused and went away! I wondered if I had offended him somehow.

Several minutes later this same man returned, this time with a friend who was also deaf. But this second man could read lips and understood English! So, again I explained that I had no money but would like to pray for both of them. I asked Andrew the lip-reader if he was a Christian. He said yes, he was, and so was his friend, Colman, and he said I could pray for them both! I asked if I could put my hands on their heads and, with their permission, I began to pray for healing!

Instantly, their ears were opened!! I tested both of them by walking several feet behind them and speaking softly while they couldn't see me. Both of them were able to hear me very well indeed! And I discovered that the first man, Colman, was also mute but now could speak!! Hallelujah! I was only in Tanzania about 30 minutes before the Lord worked his first miracle in my presence!!

PRAYER TAKES PRECEDENCE!

Good news travels fast! When I was passing through the security station before boarding my flight to Mwanza, one of the security guards had already heard about the deaf men being healed and asked if I could pray for him also. He wanted a deeper walk with Jesus, and to have his faith multiplied! So while the images flashed by on the x-ray machine in his little booth we prayed together, trusting that no suspicious items slipped by in the meantime!! [I prayed with my eyes open, as is my custom, but I wouldn't have had a clue if there was anything noteworthy on the screen.]

After bidding farewell to my brother in uniform, I rejoiced all the way to Mwanza! Several people had been open to hearing the testimony about the deaf men being healed and I had lots of opportunities to pray while waiting for the plane to board! It was time to "roll up my sleeves" and go to "work" in Tanzania!

Many miracles happened that next week! For example, a group of about 10 blind children were all healed and many of their adult caretakers were so encouraged that they asked for prayer and received healing also! So many people were saved during the crusade in the remote village of Kabale that the local pastor had to make plans to tear down the existing church building and build one at least twice as big!

WHY NOT YOU?

The anointing had come so suddenly and powerfully, that I knew the heart of God responded to the prayers of the Fresh Fire team and He released the same anointing for miracles that we all saw the week before! I was now convinced that this anointing is transferable and available for all who will choose to believe! Why not you?
